Meet Adam
I am passionate about helping people connect with their inner wisdom and the world around them, walking alongside them as they navigate life’s journey. In my role as Director of Learning at Jewish Studio Project, I create transformative experiences that help unlock the creative potential within each person. In my private practice, I offer spiritual companionship, guiding seekers on their unique paths. My work as a spiritual director has even been recognized by the New York Times—a testament to the depth of the practice I hold dear.
Throughout my career, I have served as a spiritual leader in various settings, including congregations, college campuses, and healthcare facilities. I co-founded the Movement Minyan, which brought Jewish liturgy to life through embodied practice. I was honored to serve as Liturgist in Residence at the National Havurah Summer Institute in 2013. In addition, I offered spiritual leadership to the unaffiliated Jewish community in Providence as a CLAL Rabbis without Borders Fellow in 2014-15. Along the way, I’ve sought out training and fellowship opportunities, such as the JOIN for Justice Clergy Fellowship (2015-16), the Boston Bridges Fellowship (2017-18), and the Davennen Leadership Training Institute (2018-2020), all of which have deepened my commitment to this work.
After an enriching semester abroad at Oxford University (2003), I graduated cum laude from Kenyon College in 2004. In 2012, I was ordained at Hebrew College Rabbinical School, where I also earned a Master’s in Jewish Education and became the school’s first recipient of a certificate in Pastoral Care. I completed training as a Spiritual Director through Hebrew Union College’s Bekhol Levavkha program in 2017 and becoming a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains in 2019.
My writing has been featured in publications like Evolve, Huffington Post, MyJewishLearning, and The Wisdom Daily, where I share insights from my journey and work. I live in Philadelphia with my wonderful husband, Alex, and our son, Omri.
